There was a reason I bought those patterns in the first place....

I did an amazing thing. I actually looked through the patterns I already own and choose something from the pattern stash for the upcoming wedding. SHOCKER! I am using OOP Vogue 2784.

I don't think I have suitable fabric in the stash, so I still need to go shopping. I have it in my head that I want to wear these shoes, but I ALWAYS am trying to match these shoes and haven't managed successfully yet....

Is a purple dress with lime green accents too much, too out there? Probably....

Open to suggestions for fabrics. I tromped around Joann's but am too cranky about fabric quality to have much luck there anymore. I went to G Street but am WAY too cheap to buy most of their stuff.

I like the purple and green, not too out there - print depending.
Now about your G Street vs JoAnn's problem. Thats quite a delima, whatcha gonna do? On line's always there, but it's a crap shoot on what the fabric feels like. Is this a dress you're going to wear once to the wedding and be done? Or are you hoping to make something you'll wear a lot and enjoy? If you're planning on making this a "go-to" item for events and to wear a lot, drop some cash. If it's a one time - look how hot I am, now I'm going home thing - JoAnn's it away.

A purple print with lime green would look great with the shoes. Not so sure about solid purple with lime green trim, but I'm sure you can make it work. I can see why you want to wear the shoes!

mmmmI agree with the print idea . The other option that I can see with those gorgeous shoes is a small black and white print with a green trim and some retro like green beads or a flower pin . Maybe a lovely hand made felt flower or rose etc. The dress pattern is certainly great with those shoes. Good luck I will look forward to seeing your choices.

First - I love those shoes!!!!

Now, I can see a purple print with a little green in it and maybe a green trim that matches the green in the print. The print would have to be almost all purples, like a floral with just green leaves. I also like the black/white print with green trim idea.

I started making this dress a few years ago but never finished, just because I didn't want to do the tie trim, I think. I'm anxious to see yours and want to try it again. Those shoes are great! Maybe just a green and white print would be nice. Too matchy matchy?
