Poor use of stash

So I am making a quilt from the Joel Dewberry Deer Valley collection. I came up a few fabrics short and added a few yellow bits from my stash (the gal I am making it for said her favorite colors are orange, green, yellow, and white).

I was taking these picture to help me decide what sashing to use (I sometimes find it easier to see in photos than in real life), and the more I look at the blocks, the less I am liking the yellow. I think this was a boo-boo and I should have just stuck to fabrics within the collection.

These are the days seam rippers were made for. I brought the blocks to work and plan to spend my lunch hour unpicking the blocks with yellow.

Back to the drawing board.

I don't mind the yellow, but I always have a problem with using yellow fabrics.

Best of luck with the un-sewing.

I hate yellow on principle, but I kinda like it in this. It gives it a 70s vibe to it.

Hmmm, I'm probably too late here, but I like the yellow in there only with the white background. It's got a 70's retroish vibe going on.

We must learn to embrace reverse sewing! I love your awl applique in your last post. Very cute!

I love the deer valley collection of fabrics. A quilt made out of this will look lovely. I quite like the yellow on the white background too actually.
