I am not a pink person. I have nothing against pink people, it is just not a color I gravitate towards. But I wanted to make a girly baby quilt for a friend who is about to have her first girl.
But I am not sure how I feel about it. Here are the blocks laid out.
Is it just my pink bias, or is this not very attractive? Hmmm.

I think it's cute, I would put those wavy blocks in the corners or more symmetrically placed, but that is just me.
I think it's cute and fun! Not like a generic baby quilt you'd find in a store. :-)
Well, I'm not a pink person, either. I think the quilt is cute, and you've followed the colorways already established in the prints, so it is fine! Finish it up and give it away.
The fabrics are cute, and pink is not a "bad" color, butwhat bothers you in this case is there is no relief--no place for the eye to rest. I would use a sashing between the blocks. 1-1/2 to 2 inches would be a nice size. Use either a solid black; or, a black & white check--there are a couple of well-known quilt designers who use that trick to really make their quilts pop.
Well, I AM a pink person and I think it's great! I'd love to recieve a baby quilt like this.
I think it looks great. The colorways are bright and pretty. It will be a beautiful gift!
I love pink! I like this quilt, too. I think the unusual additions of slightly muted yellows and oranges tones down the super-mega-extra-girly problem you can sometimes get with pink.
My friend had her third baby on the weekend. We were both so determined she had to finally have a girl that we were threatening a hospital swap if necessary (ok, I'm joking). So tell me then, why, oh why, did I choose colourways for her sweet baby girl quilt in blues and greens and browns???!
I think it's cute and appropriate for the occasion! I agree with whomever said above that the eye needs a place to rest. A little white would definitely lighten it up a bit and make the colors stand out. Though if you decide to leave it as is, it's going to be just fine!
You commented on my giveaway post (kikiverde @ wordpress) that you like to watch movies while you sew, but they must have a happy ending- me too! What are your favorites? I just put back Sabrina, Mona Lisa Smile, and My Big Fat Greek Wedding onto the DVD shelf. I have a stack of favorites I tend to rotate through.
Love the pink and orange combo. Thanks for entering our giveaway...it's great to meet new people.
I think it is really cute. I think white sashing would really make it pop! Thanks for entering my give away!
So cute! I love the color and fabric choices. I think pink and orange looks so good together.
